Hillsborough Little League is committed to giving our players and coaches what they need to ensure a successful and rewarding Little League experience. Training and skill-building play an important role in HLL, starting with basic fundamentals and expanding from there.

Former San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees star outfielder Terry Whitfield and former Major League pitcher Ed Ricks provide personalized hitting and pitching instruction in state-of-the-art batting cages. Terry and Ed offer 30-minute lessons. Players can also rent batting cages for sets of 20 balls on a walk-in basis, or participate in seasonal camps / clinics.

Hit Club Baseball offers personalized training for youth baseball and softball players of all skill levels, including little league, middle school, and high school.  They offer year-round lessons, and also weeklong baseball camps during the summer months.  They also organize tournament teams that play locally in the Bay Area and throughout the state.

Since 1994, Starting Line Up has offered baseball camps and lessons, including year-round instruction in the fundamentals of baseball. This includes pitching, hitting, fielding mechanics, outfield play and baserunning. Camps are held throughout the summer, as well as during winter and spring breaks, in Burlingame and Half Moon Bay. The Starting Line Up staff also operates coaches' clinics and helps teams of all levels achieve their goals. The summer camps are for 6-12 year-olds in June and July. T-Ball camps are also offered.

The Cage is the premier indoor baseball and softball facility in the San Francisco Bay area. Consisting of 5,000 square feet of training space, The Cage offers five professional grade batting cages and two clay pitching mounds. The facility also includes two indoor waiting areas with flat screen TVs, free internet access and ample parking. The owners of The Cage have over 20 years of combined experience in Major League Baseball and are dedicated to providing individual instruction and team training to players of all ages. The Cage is a private facility that is available by appointment only.

Five-day baseball sessions are held Monday through Friday in June and July for 8-12 year-olds. Days begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Camps are held at the state-of-the-art baseball facility at the College of San Mateo. The camp welcomes all skill levels and is led by college coaches and players. Instruction includes pitching, fielding, hitting, baserunning, motivation, nutrition and goal-setting.

Four-day softball sessions are held Monday through Thursday in June for 7-12 year-olds. Days begin at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Camps are held at the new softball facility at Carlmont High School in Belmont. The camp welcomes all skill levels. Instruction includes fielding, hitting, baserunning and softball games. Year-round training sessions are also available.

Led by former Stanford Baseball coach Dean Stotz, Stanford Baseball Camps offer a variety of camp options and dates for baseball instruction for players age 7 - 12+. All camps are held at Stanford's beautiful Sunken Diamond field. These camps have received high marks from HLL families in the past. Alumni receive free admission to Stanford baseball games for the entire following season!

Five-day summer camp sessions are held from June until mid-August. Camps are offered to boys and girls ages 6-13 and run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition, pitching instruction is offered on a year-round basis to groups and individuals. Mike was a legendary pitcher at Serra High School and coached the Serra pitchers for years at one of the best baseball programs in Bay Area. Mike has given pitching instruction clinics to HLL managers in the past.

Five-day baseball instructional camps at Serra High School. Camps run Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., in June, July and August. The June camps are for players in grades 4-6 and the July and August camps are for players in grades 7-9.

Former Minor League baseball player Tony Sylvestri (currently the baseball coach at Aptos Middle School) offers summer camps for players ages 7-12. Sessions are held from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in July and July at Trinta Field.

Each day, three fundamentals are taught in various stations. Examples include hitting, fielding and baserunning. Players are grouped by age and experience. Each day concludes with a game.

The San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's are hardly the only games in town. For those of you with baseball-hungry boys and girls, we are blessed with three of the finest baseball programs of their kind in the country and they are only minutes away. Serra High School, the College of San Mateo and Stanford University have fantastic baseball programs and promote strong fundamentals. These three top-tier teams offer fun, affordable and instructive family outings. We encourage you to take your young baseball fan(s) to some of these games!
